Allosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, about 155-145 million years ago. It had a large head with sharp, serrated teeth and a muscular body with powerful legs. Allosaurus was one of the top predators of its time and likely hunted large herbivorous dinosaurs such as Stegosaurus and Diplodocus. Some estimates suggest that Allosaurus could grow up to 39 feet long and weigh over 4 tons.
